Walk for the Poor
“Most people see things as they are and ask, ‘Why?’ Some people dream things that never were and ask, ‘Why Not?’”
If you dream of a better community, if you dream of social and economic justice and love and compassion for the family of man, then please join us on Saturday, September 24, 2016 for the 6th annual Friends of the Poor Walk.
Each year since 2010, the St. Vincent de Paul family has gathered at St. Paul’s Catholic Church to commence a one mile walk to demonstrate our solidarity and love for members of our community who may not enjoy material and spiritual security.
At the same time, all across the nation, local St. Vincent de Paul Societies will be doing the same.
Donations from local merchants, organizations and individuals in support of the Walk are essential to maintain the assistance programs that benefit more than 1000 Juneauites each year.
You may donate here or in person on the day of the walk. Whether you are able to donate or not, please join us for this once a year opportunity to be counted as a Friend of the Poor.
