Job Title: Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Directors

Position Summary
Provide overall leadership, administrative and managerial responsibilities for the programs and mission-driven activities of SVdP Juneau. The executive director (ED) is the chief operating officer of the Society of St Vincent de Paul, St Therese Conference Juneau (SVdP) and serves under the authority, and as the agent of, the Board of Directors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide staff services to the Board & serve as its primary agent
- Plan and coordinate all activities prescribed by the Board of Directors in cooperation with the President of the Board. Attend all Board meetings and Board Committee meetings.
- Provide the Board with adequate information to help it reach sound decisions, approve policies and review organizational performance and financial position.
- Provide comprehensive monthly reporting to the Board and apprise the Board of significant developments as they arise.
- Collaborate with the Board in establishing and achieving the organization’s short and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with the Finance Committee to develop the organization’s budget and manage SVdP’s finances and budget, as approved by the Board and with oversight of the Board Treasurer.
- Initiate and coordinate the formulation of policies and procedures for Board
Provide overall administrative support and managerial leadership to SVdP
- Ensure that SVdP philosophy, policies and programs are
- Provide staff direction and support that aligns with organization mission, program policies, community needs, professional codes of ethics, and high personal standards of
- Oversee management of the organization’s buildings and assets, in accord with legal, moral, and environmental stewardship, health and safety laws and
- Work with Board and staff to stabilize and increase the organization’s financial resources and sustainability through grants, contracts and fund development.
- Oversee risk management efforts; ensure compliance with all audit, licensing, and credentialing requirements for housing and social service organizations.
Human Resources
- Promote an organizational culture that respects human dignity and develops human
- Oversee the administration of human resources including:
- implementing personnel policies and procedures adopted by the Board
- adherence to wage and salary scales, employee benefits, and personnel policies
- oversee hiring, discharging, supervising, disciplining, evaluating and rewarding all staff

Serve as SVdP community liaison
- Serve as SVdP representative to community organizations, local agencies, local, state and federal governments and private foundations.
- Maintain SVdP leadership within the Juneau Homeless Coalition and the CBJ Affordable Housing Commission.
- Maintain positive SVdP relations with the Regional and National Councils of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, local parishes and the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau.
Coordinate and supervise planning and development activities

Qualifications
The ED will be thoroughly committed to SVdP’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Demonstrable experience and qualifications include:
- Degree, preferably an MBA or MSW, with at least 2 years of management experience
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
- Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing Board member relationships
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
