Dear Friends of St. Vincent de Paul Society,
Please consider donating to our Spring Ozanam Fund Drive.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Juneau is celebraing 40 years of service to our community this year. We are part of a National society that originated in 1845 in the United States, and the International Society of St. Vincent de Paul, that is celebrating almost 200 years.
Our St. Vincent de Paul has grown from a small shelter and food pantry 1984 to an expanded shelter, food pantry, and a team of 25 staff and numerous volunteers. We have a Home Visit Team, community resource navigators, and Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance programs. We have 101 apartments for low-income households of all types. These are located in six buildings in downtown, Douglas, and the valley. Funds for our charitable work and direct aid to neighbors in need, come from donations from individuals, local businesses, and our Thrift Store.
Ozanam Sunday falls is on April 28th this year. On this occasion, we celebrate the lives of St. Vincent de Paul and Fredric Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Your support will help us to continue fulfilling our mission: to providematerial and spiritual charity and to advocate for social justice for all people!
Last past year, we assisted 19 families, including 40 children at our shelter. We conducted 150 home visits to 61 households, disbursing over $20,000 in direct aid and connecting people to many larger grants and sustainable services. Additionally, we assisted over 250 walk-ins at our office, distributed 460 Thanksgiving baskets and provided Christmas presents to 357 children through Adopt-A-Family.
Your contribution will enable us to continue supporting families and individuals rent, utilities, food, and other basic necessities, and much more!
Thank you for partnering with us in serving our neighbors in need.
Your financial support transforms lives!
